Moletroll

These creatures live deep down in dark caves. They are completly blind and only use their very sensitive nose, as the last developed sense they have left, to find their way around. Using their strong arms and tough, pickaxe-like claws they hack away aimlessly at the walls around them in hope for small pockets of water. They get very old, a tunnel one digs in a lifetime spanns around 7km.
The Caves they live in is often home to two kinds of Fungi: The brown, large and very sturdy Rock Cap and the small, blue glowing Cave Eyes. These mushrooms often enter a kind of symbiotic relationship with the troll. Since Rock Caps often grow on the higher ceilings of the tunnels they usually infect the top of the head and shoulder area of the troll, giving him protection against smaller rocks falling down on him during digging whilst slowly eating away on the troll often causing fatal brain insuries. Cave Eyes attract small critters for this opportunistic hunter.
Their caves are usually avoided.
